The Renton Community Foundation will present the 2008 Circle of Giving grants on Friday, Jan. 23, to 18 organizations that serve the Renton community.
The grants total nearly $41,000, bringing to about $200,000 the amount that the foundation has given locally.
The Renton Community Foundation was established in 1999 and today contributes to more than three dozen causes, including health care, education, youth and families and the arts.
The Maxwell Foundation for Youth and Families, operated by Marcie and Steve Maxwell, also will present grants to the Kennydale Elementary School PTA for a young scientists week, to the Highlands Co-op Preschool for a literacy grant and to Hillcrest Early Childhood Center literacy grant.

The public presentation is 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Renton High School Commons.
