Plans are in the works to start exploring the idea of a women’s shelter in Renton.

Renton resident and Rev. Linda Smith of the Church of Mary Magdelene in Seattle is forming a group to explore the possibility of a women’s shelter in Renton.

She feels that women and their children are in desperate need in the community.

Smith is asking members of local church congregations and community organizations to refer individuals who are interested in joining this planning group to her.
