Twenty-two outstanding Renton High alumni will be honored May 7 at the school’s Centennial Celebration.
The all-day festivities at the high school, sponsored by the Friends of Renton High, will feature class reunions, concerts, car show, memorabilia displays and ending with the gala banquet for the honorees.
The distinguished alumni were selected by a panel of judges in various categories for the Wall of Honor and Athletic Hall of Fame. Photos of the alumni and more information about each are in a special section in today’s Renton Reporter.
Wall of Honor selectees are Val Caniparoli, Eugene Aitken, Quinton Morris, Charles Delaurenti, Donald Custer, Earl Clymer, Gary Faull, Cynthia Richter LaFever, Ronald Crockett, Charles Conner, Sally Roffey Jewell, Dr. Raymond W. Howard and William K. Longwell.
Selected for the Athletic Hall of Fame were Henry Moses, George Ziegenfuss, George R. Strugar, George R. Reed, Clarence Williams, William L. Donckers, Jerry Belur, Mark W. Prothero, Kimberly Nelson Searing and Aretha Thurmond.
Tickets for the banquet at the Renton Pavilion Event Center honoring the graduates are $65 and may be purchased online at www.CelebrateRentonHigh.org or mailed to Friends of Renton High School, P.O. Box 4011, Renton, 98057-4011 by May 1.
Concerts will be presented by the Alumni Choir and current high school performers in the IKEA Performing Arts Center during the afternoon. The Renton High Centennial book by Barbara Nilson featuring more than 250 pages of alumni memories will be on sale all day for around $30.
