Police officers arrested a 20-year-old Renton male at his residence Wednesday for investigation of child molestation charges at the La Petite Academy in Redmond. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.

On July 15, someone at the academy, located at 8675 161st Ave. N.E., notified the Redmond Police Department (RPD) that a family reported child molestation allegations involving a staff member and a 5-year-old child, according to an RPD press release. The academy immediately put the staff member on administrative leave.

Since that time, detectives have worked closely with the business, other families and social agencies to investigate the case and conduct proper notifications.

Redmond police have no reason to believe there are other victims at this time.
