A Renton man who is believed armed and dangerous is wanted after firing a shot during an argument with his girlfriend Friday morning in southwest Renton.
Byron Robert Brooks II, 36, is African-American, 5-foot-6 , 195 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a goatee. When last seen, he was wearing a baseball hat, red or black shirt and grey shorts.
A Renton Police indicated Monday there is probably cause to arrest Brooks once he is located.
Renton Police officers responded to a report of a domestic assault with a gun at about 7:45 a.m. Friday morning at an apartment in the 500 block of Stevens Avenue Southwest. According to police, Brooks had punched his girlfriend of two years in the chest.
The argument continued outside the apartment, when the single gunshot was fired. Initially, Brooks was thought to be inside the apartment but it was empty when a SWAT team entered. He was last seen in the Kent area.
He was believed to be driving a white 1992 Ford Thunderbird, with license plate 120YEQ.
Anyone who sees the Thunderbird should call 911 and refer to Renton Police case No. 11-3982.
