A 20-year-old Renton man told detectives his alternate personality, “Frost,” is responsible for the death of his girlfriend Saturday, according to court documents.

Bail for the suspect was set at $750,000 Monday afternoon; his next court appearance is Wednesday, which is also the deadline to file charges.

The Renton Reporter will not name him until formal charges are filed. He was arrested for investigation of homicide, domestic violence. He’s being held in the King County Jail in downtown Seattle.

Initial court documents identify the victim’s name, but the King County Medical Examiner’s Office has not officially released her identity nor how she died.

The documents, the Renton Police Department’s certification of probable cause, offer details of the homicide at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of South Eagle Ridge Drive.

The document asks investigators why the suspect shouldn’t be released. The detective answered: “He murdered his girlfriend. Has no ties to the community.”

The suspect called 911 at 11:50 a.m., identifying himself by name and birth date. He also told the call receiver the name of his girlfriend.

He told the call dispatcher that he strangled and killed his girlfriend and he had a Glock handgun, according to the court document.

He instructed the dispatcher “to tell officers to not open the bedroom door because a propane tank might go off.” When the dispatcher asked whether there was a bomb, he replied, “kind of.”

The suspect also stated to the call receiver that people would be caught in the crossfire and that he was going to use his gun, according to documents.

When Renton Police officers arrived, the suspect was outside his apartment. He ignored officers’ commands to surrender and ran back inside the apartment.

He surrendered after officers surrounded the apartment and fired less-lethal rounds into the front and rear windows to ventilate the apartment, according to court documents.

An officer found the victim lying face down on the bed. He carried her outside to attempt life-saving measures but she was already dead.

In his interview with detectives, the suspect said “Frost,” his alternate personality, killed his girlfriend.

A relative of the victim also called 911 after receiving a text message from the suspect. The text stated, “If you are getting this, you are responsible for [the victim’s] death. You turned her against me. You abused her heart by offering her to go to college.”
