Renton Police find vehicle suspected of deadly hit-and-run, no arrests made yet

Police say they are waiting on analysis of evidence.

Just before 7pm on Dec. 20, Renton Police responded to reports of a vehicle that hit a pedestrian at the intersection NE 12th Street and NE Sunset Boulevard.

The 52-year-old pedestrian, who witnesses said had just gotten off a bus before she was struck by the vehicle, died at the scene.

The vehicle that hit her sped away from the scene.

After investigating the scene of the collision, debris and video indicated that the hit-and-run vehicle was a Ford SUV or hatchback.

On Dec. 21, two officers found a Ford Focus Hatchback that fit the description and had damage consistent with the crash from the day prior. According to police, the vehicle was in a parking lot on the 1300 Block of Duvall Ave.

The vehicle was impounded and its driver was interviewed. Police say so one has been arrested yet as they await an examination of the evidence.
