A power outage hit multiple neighborhoods and local grocery stores in Renton the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 23.
The outage, according to the Puget Sound Energy (PSE) power outage map, hits parts of Southwest Grady Way and Oakesdale Avenue Southwest. One resident reported that the nearby Fred Meyers was also without power. The Rainier Avenue Walmart also appeared to be in the outage range.
The map indicates 424 customers are without power as of the posting of this article. A PSE media engagement specialist Andrew Padula said originally about 1,768 customers were without power, and are now down to around 261 customers, expected to be up by noon today, Oct. 23. Padula said they are rerouting power to get everyone up and running.
The cause of the outage is still under investigation, but Padula said it’s related to an equipment failure.
