Renton school bond adds to lead | Special election

The $97 million school construction bond in the Renton School District continued to extend its lead Thursday.

The Renton School District’s  $97 million bond measure continued to add to its yes column after Thursday’s results were released, with 60.55 percent approval.

The Building for a Lifetime of Learning school building improvement measure was just shy of 60 percent following the initial count Tuesday night. Wednesday, the bond surpassed the 60 percent threshold needed for approval.

The results Thursday were 60.55 percent approval, or 10,246 votes, to 39.45 rejection, or 6,676 votes.

The county will release results weekdays in the afternoon; the election will be certified on April 27.
