Renton will mark Memorial Day Monday with two community events.

The Memorial Day Event 2010 is at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Ave. N.E., to honor fallen American service men and women.

The service will include representatives of the VFW and the American Legion. The Keith Highlander Bagpipe Band the Rhythmic Bell Choir will perform. Wreaths will be placed to honor each branch of the Armed Services.

Then, the City of Renton will host a Memorial Day Celebration at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 523 S. Third St.

Mayor Denis Law will attend, as will the commanders of the VFW Post 1263 and American Legion Post 19, the VFW chaplain and an honor guard.

The celebration will honor veterans who have served both at home and abroad.
