Rotary honors teachers for November

The Rotary Club of Renton has honored its Teachers of the Month for November.

The Rotary Club of Renton has honored its Teachers of the Month for November.

As part of the recognition, teachers attend Rotary’s Teacher of the Month luncheon at Maplewood Golf Course. Each teacher receives $200 for classroom supplies or instructional materials.

• Patrice Perrault is a second-grade teacher at Cascade Elementary. She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Seattle University and a teaching certificate from University of Washington, Bothell. She also earned a master’s degree in creative arts and learning from Lesley University. Perrault has been a teacher in Renton for nine years.

• Mary Ahlbeck is a special-education preschool teacher at Hillcrest Early Childhood Center. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in education and a Bachelor of Science in nutrition from University of Washington. She also earned an endorsement in preschool through 12th-grade special education from Seattle Pacific University. This is Ahlbeck’s sixth year teaching in Renton.

• Phoebe Hill-Blundred is the business and office teacher at Black River High School. From Central Washington University she earned a teaching certificate in business and industry, in computer application and work-based learning/diversified occupations. Before joining Renton School District, Hill-Blundred worked for a national wholesale food distributor as a customer services manager, food show events coordinator and a major accounts manager. This is Hill-Blundred’s 11th year teaching in Renton.
