Renton Technical College (RTC) is now offering its first Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Application Development.
The BAS in Application Development program is designed for students who have earned an information technology related associate’s degree and are looking to take the next step toward earning a bachelor’s degree.
Graduates from this degree program will have a deep technical foundation in advanced computer science topics, such as: software development, enterprise application, database design, web development and systems analysis.
Classes are offered in the evenings to accommodate the needs of working adults, and are delivered in a flexible, hybrid format incorporating online, classroom and lab components.
According to the Employment Security Department’s December 2014 Employer Demand Report, software application development is the number one, most in demand occupation in King County. RTC’s new program is designed to meet this demand by providing students with the skills needed to obtain a technical occupation and increase their earning potential.
Applications for a spring quarter start are due Feb. 2, 2015. For more information about the program and admissions requirements, visit www.rtc.edu/appdev, or contact Stefanie McIrvin, BAS Program Manager, at 425-235-2352 ext. 5763.
