Update late Tuesday morning: The Washington State Patrol is continuing to seek the man who pushed a Seattle woman into the path of a car Monday evening. He’s described as a black male in his early 40s, about 5-foot-7 and weighing about 140 pounds. Detectives are waiting to talk with the victim, who is undergoing treatment at Harborview Medical Center, to obtain more information. Harborview is not releasing information about her condition at her request. Anyone with information about the man or who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Washington State Patrol at 425-401-7788.

A 44-year-old Seattle woman walking along Martin Luther King Jr. Way Monday evening was critically injured when she was pushed in front of a car, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A witness told the troopers the man who pushed her onto the highway stood around for a few minutes, then fled toward a nearby mobile-home park, according to Dave Nelson, a spokesman for the King County Fire District 20, which responded with medical assistance, along with the Tukwila Fire Department and Medic One.

The woman was hit by an eastbound, 2006 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 48-year-old Seattle man, while walking east in the westbound shoulder of the highway. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The highway was closed for about 2 ½ hours near South 129th Street for the state patrol investigation.
