A Seattle man faces multiple charges in regards to a series of burglaries targeting Renton businesses, in addition to various other incidents.
King County prosecutors have open charges against 27-year-old Feleti Wight in four separate cases.
Prosecutors filed charges of possession of a stolen vehicle against Wight on Jan. 13; attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle on Feb. 16.; and two separate burglary cases on Sept. 27.
According to the Renton Police Department, Renton police have arrested Wight multiple times with detectives filing charges against Wight in 19 burglary cases, four attempted burglary cases, and three cases of possession of a stolen vehicle.
King County prosecutors filed felony charges against Wight in two separate cases on Sept. 27 for a series of smash-and-grab burglaries targeting Renton businesses in addition to a burglary incident in Kent in the second case filed. According to the documents, Wight used a stolen black Jeep to smash into the glass windows and entrances of six businesses prior to stealing cash, jewelry, and valuables.
Renton businesses targeted included KC’s Seafood Restaurant on Aug. 8; Nail Zone on Sept. 7; Buck’s Terriyaki on Sept. 7; Taqueria El Taco Maestro on Sept. 10; Teriyaki Wok on Sept. 13; and PHOBOX on Sept. 15, according to documents.
In the second case filed on Sept. 27, according to an affidavit of probable cause, Kent police arrested Wight on March 31, 2023, after dispatching to report of a stolen parked U-Haul truck and discovering stacks of paperwork from both a pho restaurant in Kent and the Cafe Mixteca in Renton, two businesses that had been the victims of burglaries.
Wight had been out of custody on release awaiting trial for a separate incident at the time of the commission of the smash-and-grab burglaries.
Wight was arrested in Renton on Jan. 10 for possession of a stolen vehicle and later released; arrested in Renton on Feb. 11 for attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle and later released; and arrested in Kent in March of 2023 for possession of a stolen vehicle in January 2023. The court filed for Wight’s release out of custody on personal recognizance on May 22, 2023.
In Wight’s most recent arrest, Renton police arrested Wight on Sept. 22 at 364 Renton Center Way Southwest at approximately 3:15 p.m., according to arrest documents.
Wight is currently in custody on $100,000 bail.
The King County Superior Court scheduled for two arraignments for the two most recent September filed cases for Oct. 11 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center.
The King County Prosecutor’s Office assigned a senior deputy prosecutor from the High Priority Repeat Offender group to handle Wight’s cases, according to the Renton Police Department.
Wight additionally holds multiple convictions on charges in 2016 and 2017 including burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle prowling, and the taking of a vehicle without permission.
