The following information was compiled based on City of Renton police reports.
A Renton store employee was caught and fired for buying what she thought was marijuana in the store’s parking lot Sept. 9.
A loss-prevention officer at Fred Meyer, 365 Renton Center Way, observed an employee buying marijuana from a vehicle in the parking lot around 3 p.m.
The officer called police and police stood by while the employee was fired.
The employee was not arrested but read her Miranda warnings. Upon close inspection of the drug, police said it appeared to be physically consistent with marijuana. However, further inspection revealed it was a spice ingredient consistent with “oregano.”
Scooter breaks window
Someone threw a scooter into the window of St. Anthony’s Church Parish Ministry Center on Oct. 14.
The facilities manager told police he pulled into the parking lot on South Fourth Street at about midnight.
A man asked him for a bandage and showed the facilities manager his bloody knuckles. The manager told the man to wait there and when he went to retrieve the bandage, he discovered the scooter in the window. The injured man left east to Morris Avenue South.
There was no blood on the scooter or the window. Police said there was no evidence that the man threw the scooter in the window.
Woman threatened
A young woman was threatened by her stepfather on Sept. 11.
The 21-year-old woman said her mother and stepfather had been arguing and her mother left the house on Chelan Place Northeast.
When the mother returned, the stepfather was blaming the daughter for their problems. The stepdaughter said he then told her to leave the house or he would kill her if she didn’t.
The woman refused to leave and instead called the police at around 8 p.m., so the stepfather left.
The woman told police she did not feel comfortable staying there that night, so she agreed to go somewhere else.
Man attacked, robbed
A 44-year-old Renton man was attacked and robbed on Sept. 11.

They pulled his backpack off, struck him in the face and he fell to the ground. He believes he was hit or kicked while he was on the ground.
Police noticed the man had a cut above his left eyebrow and it was open and bleeding when they contacted him in the hospital. His left eye was partially swollen shut, his lips were swollen and he had other cuts and abrasions.
One of the suspects was said to be approximately 6-feet-tall, thin build, baggy pants. There is no other suspect information.
