Stolen jacket

Renton police responded to a shoplifting report at 7:46 p.m. June 26 in the 1200 block of North Landing Way. En route to the scene, an officer located three minors matching the suspect descriptions provided. The officer contacted and spoke with the suspects, getting their names and asking them what happened, according to the department. The officer did not yet have a victim of the crime, as loss prevention at the store attempted to locate the victim. Once at the store, the victim, who had been located, said that the three minors had stolen his jacket. The officer positively identified the primary suspect in the incident, who had provided a fake name, according to the department. Investigation continues into the incident.

Shooting at the park

Renton police responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. June 30 to a shooting at Philip Arnold Park at 720 Jones Avenue South. According to the department, witnesses said they heard multiple gunshots. The suspects fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers. Law enforcement received no reports of injuries. A home received damage as a result of a bullet, according to the department. Investigation into the incident continues. The department stated they are actively searching for information regarding suspects.
