A 15-year-old male was killed and another 15-year-old male was injured in a Sunday evening shooting near Bronson Way and Vuemont Place in Renton. Police are now searching for the suspected shooter who fled in a vehicle.
According to Renton Police Department spokesperson Meeghan Black, at around 5:30 p.m. April 13, a suspect in one vehicle shot at another vehicle that was carrying four people, but striking two victims. Black said the driver of the vehicle carrying the injured people attempted to drive them to the hospital, but stopped for help in 700 block of Rainier Avenue South.
Black said one victim was deceased at the scene, and the other was transported to the hospital. The two others in the vehicle were not injured in the shooting, Black said.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was 15-year-old Noah Corona, whose cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso. His manner of death was a homicide.
According to Black, the suspect fled in a vehicle. Officers are searching for the suspect, but no one has been arrested yet. Black said most likely charges in this incident are homicide and assault.
Black said this shooting was targeted, and the department does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
