Man was stabbed after defending TV remote rules in a community room.

The following information was compiled from Renton Police Department’s incident reports.

Police responded to a knife assault that occurred June 28 at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Wells Avenue South.

A male victim was helping a resident take their blood sugar in the community room when a man walked in the room and starting yelling at a different resident, demanding the TV remote.

The victim intervened and told the man he couldn’t take the remote away from the resident. The man then walked away.

The victim returned to his room to return the blood sugar machine, when he saw the man come out of another room with a knife in hand. The man lunged the knife at the victim’s heart, but the victim held his arms up and was stabbed in his left forearm instead.

He asked the suspect if he just stabbed him, to which the suspect responded, “F@#$ yeah I stabbed you.”

The victim called 911 and was transported to Valley Medical Center.

The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for first-degree assault.

IF YOU’RE SCARED, PULL OUT A GUN

Police responded to a threat that occurred June 29 at the intersection of 108th Avenue Southeast and Southeast Petrovitsky Road.

According to the male victim, he was turning eastbound on Southeast Carr Road when another vehicle cut him off and almost collided with him. He said he became angry, got out of his car, and started yelling at the male driver. The driver pulled out his hand gun and pointed it to the victim’s face. The victim then got back to his car and called 911.

Police contacted the suspect who said when the victim approached his door and started yelling at him and banging at his car door, he became afraid and pulled out his gun to defend himself. He said he did not point the gun at the victim, but rather showed it to him.

Due to the suspect’s statement, police did not charge him for aiming or discharging a firearm.

ATTEMPTED CAR THEFT ESCALATES TO ASSAULT

Police responded to an assault report that occurred June 30 at a restaurant on the 700 block of South Third Street.

According to a male victim, he and his friends were eating at the restaurant and his rental car was parked across the street from the restaurant.

As he and his friends walked out, they saw someone moving around in the driver’s side of his car. He ran to his car and yelled, “Why are you in my car?” A male subject who was inside was holding his friends’ backpack. He handed over the backpack while cursing.

When one of the victim’s friends said he would call the police, the victim became aggravated. The victim and his friends got into the vehicle. Just before the victim could close the door, the suspect managed to get in front of the door and punched him in the eye.

The victim managed to close the door. The suspect then circled around the vehicle and punched the driver’s side window. At this point, they started to drive the vehicle and drove toward the hospital.

The suspect was described to be 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build and black hair. He wore a Seahawks jersey with dark-colored shorts and dark-colored backpack.

The victim was treated for the cut above his right eye, which required stitches.

There is no further information at the case at this time.

DISTRACT, THEN PURSE SNATCH

A woman reported her wallet was stolen on June 29 at the Safeway located on Northeast Fourth Street.

She said she was shopping in the frozen food section when she was approached by a 40-year-old female who was about 5 feet 6 inches tall.

She said the woman started talking about the items in her cart. When she turned around for a short period of time, the female left quickly. It wasn’t until she went to grab her wallet to pay for her groceries that she realized her purse had been stolen.

The store manager said they would review security footage to see if there was any evidence on who stole her wallet. There is no further information on the case at this time.
