Steve Sholdra wins two titles; Lindbergh takes seventh, Renton 10th | 2A state swim & dive

Renton's Steve Sholdra won two state titles, Lindbergh placed seventh, and the Indians took tenth at the 2A state swim and dive meet last weekend.

Renton’s Steve Sholdra won two state titles, Lindbergh placed seventh, and the Indians took tenth at the 2A state swim and dive meet last weekend.

Sholdra broke the state record time (that he set last year) in both the prelims and the finals in the 500 free. His finals time of four minutes, 29.10 seconds beat the second-place simmer by 16 seconds. It also earned him automatic All-American status.

Sholdra also won a title in the 200 free. He set a new state record time in the prelims (1:41.39), then bettered it the next day in the finals (1:40.78). That time earned him All-American consideration.

Led by a pair of top-four finishes in the 100 fly, Lindbergh 26 points as a team and placed seventh.

Andrew Franco-Munoz finished second in the 100 fly finals, while Aaron Jacobsen took fourth. The Eagles’ 200-medley relay team (Sam Seid, AJ Lim, Jacobsen and Connor Guhlke) placed 10th.

Lim made the finals in the 200 IM and placed eighth with a time of 2:11.44. Franco-Munoz took 10th in the 50 free.

Tanner Zornes made the finals in the one-meter dive and placed eighth with a score of 246.85 points. Guhlke placed 16th in the 100 free.

Lindbergh took sixth in the 200-free relay (Jacobsen, Seid, Guhlke and Franco-Munoz). The Eagles took sixth in the 400-free relay (Guhlke, Seid, Jacobsen and Franco-Munoz).

Renton placed 10th as a team with 18 points.

Renton finished 11th in the 200-free relay (Adriel Paine, Aslan DaVault, Tyler Pascual and Sholdra). The Indians placed 12th (Paine, DaVault, Pascual and Sholdra) in the 400-free relay.
