Summer lunch program begins June 23

The program is open to the public and no registration is required. Lunches must be consumed on site and will be served Monday through Friday, except on July 3 and 4.

The Renton School District and the City of Renton will once again host the free summer lunch program for children up to 18 years old around the city this year.

The program is June 25 to Aug. 17 at schools, apartments, churches, community centers and parks in Renton. The summer lunch program was established to make sure children continue to eat nutritious meals during the summer months when they don’t have access to local school lunch programs, a school district release stated.

The program is open to the public and no registration is required. Lunches must be consumed on site and will be served Monday through Friday, except on July 3 and 4.
