An 18-year-old suspect in the fatal West Hill shooting incident turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday night.
The suspect is the cousin of the 19-year-old victim who died at an apartment complex off of Martin Luther King Jr. Way around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Apparently a hand gun was pulled out amongst a group of people in the apartment and passed around for inspection. At some point the victim’s cousin pointed the gun at him, pulled the trigger and shot the 19-year-old in the chest, according to Sgt. Cindi West, spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office.
West met the suspect around 5:30 p.m. yesterday at 21st Street and East James, where he turned himself in. He was booked into King County jail last night on possible charges of second degree murder. It will be up to the King County Prosecutor’s Office to decide actual charges.
