The reporting party, a 75-year-old woman, reported that a man had approached her while she was inside her vehicle and tapped on her driver’s side window with a firearm.
The victim stated that at approximately 9:02 a.m., while sitting in the driver’s seat of her vehicle on an access road, she observed an older gray minivan enter the access road. A man jumped out of the driver’s seat of the van and ran up to her driver’s side window and pulled out a tan colored handgun. She said the man did not say any words, but tapped the gun on her driver’s side window and aimed it at her face, according to police.
She did not roll down her window, and the man ran back to his van and left the area, northbound on Meadow Avenue North. She believed she saw another person in the front passenger’s seat of the van, but no description could be provided and she was not able to provide a license plate number for the van, according to the department.
The reporting party described the suspect as a 20-something Hispanic man with medium length black hair, no facial hair, and a medium build with broad shoulders, and approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall with a medium complexion.

The call information stated that the reporting party was robbed at gunpoint, and three suspects fled in a gold-colored vehicle in an unknown direction of travel.
Officers arrived and talked with the reporting party, an employee of the gas station, according to the department. The employee explained that three young men, potentially 18 years old or younger, parked a gold four-door sedan directly in front of the entrance of the store. Each of the three men was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the register. The employee was compliant and the suspects took approximately $800 to $900 in cash along with various snacks and candies. The suspects also took the employee’s wallet and took the cash out.
The employee described the suspects as three men (two Black and one white) wearing masks and gloves, according to the department. Per surveillance footage, the suspects appear to be juveniles. The department described the suspect vehicle as a four-door Kia sedan, potentially a Kia Forte.
The reporting party described the vehicle as gold, but the vehicle possibly appears silver in the video, according to the department. The vehicle has a broken passenger side rear window with a black tarp or blanket hung up in place of the glass. Police have probable cause for all three suspects for robbery in the first degree. The department’s investigations department has taken over the case for further review.
Domestic violence
Renton police were dispatched at 9:46 p.m. Oct. 1 to a physical domestic violence report that occurred in the 11000 block of Southeast Petrovitsky Road.
The victim was first contacted via phone and stated she was strangled by her boyfriend of four months and was unable to breathe for approximately 10 seconds. The victim was not at the incident location any longer and agreed to meet at the local fire station where she was medically evaluated and cleared by the Renton Regional Fire Authority.
The victim was interviewed by an officer and stated that she was at an apartment when they began arguing, according to the department. Her boyfriend took her phone and would not give it back before laying on top of her and restricting her ability to move.
He then got up, and when she tried to get her phone back, he pushed her across the room with one arm. He also grabbed her by both of her upper arms and pushed her into a folding chair, which then slid into the glass slider door where he proceeded to pin her against the glass with his right hand around her neck, according to the police report. This lifted her up and she was unable to breathe for approximately 10 seconds.
Renton police attempted contact at the residence; however, there was no answer at the door and the lights were turned off. Police have probable cause for assault in the second degree. This case has been turned over to the department’s investigations team for further review.
Attempted stabbing
Renton police were dispatched at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 29 to a domestic assault at the 12700 block of Southeast 168th Street. An anonymous witness called to report a subject being assaulted on the ground at the location.
Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the victim, a man who stated his brother-in-law came onto his property upset about a prior argument and tried to stab him with a knife, according to the department. The victim stated he told his brother-in-law to leave his property because he was yelling and disturbing their family.
The brother-in-law was upset because he was “banned” by the victim from contacting his family due to an incident that happened earlier in the year, according to the department.
After the victim told him to leave his property multiple times, the suspect refused to leave and pulled out a knife, according to the department. The victim tackled the suspect when the suspect refused to drop the knife.
The victim stated his nephew showed up on the scene during the scuffle and punched the suspect, according to the department. The suspect continued to hold the knife until the suspect’s sister, the victim’s wife, came outside and yelled at him. The suspect then left the scene.
Police have probable cause to charge the suspect with attempted assault in the second degree, according to the department. The department has turned the case over to its investigations team for further review.
