In case you need another reason to go to the opening-night gala Friday for the Seattle International Film Festival in Renton, here’s the menu for the big party.
• Melrose Grill: bourbon carmel sauce and Nebraska tenderloin bites
• Rain City Catering: soy lime chicken skewers; empanadas
• Naan N Curry: Chicken Tikki Masala
• Blossom Vegetarian: sesame “beef” sweet rice squares • Torero’s Mexican Restaurant: enchiladas
• Asian Tea Palace: chrysanthemum jelly dessert
• Peyrassol Café: Slow-braised Washington Lamb Shoulder over French Lentil Salad with Pickled Fennel & Radish; Dark Cocoa Cookie Drops with Gin-Soaked Raisins & Pecans
• Bistro Box: Dips, spreads and tapenades with Crostini and crackers; Brownies, lemon bars and cookies
There will be beer and wine and musical entertainment.
SIFF-Renton runs through May 24 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center at Renton High School. Tickets for the opening-night events and the screenings of the 18 films are available online.
Friday evening begins with a screening of “Fat Kid Rules the World,” a film directed by Matthew Lillard and shot in locations around Renton with local extras. Lillard will be on hand to launch the festival.
The gala begins immediately afterward at the Renton Pavilion Event Center at the Piazza.
