Dr. Bob Thompson has been selected by Seattle Business magazine as one of three finalists for the Outstanding Health Care Practitioner award in Washington.
Thompson’s nomination recognizes his advocacy and innovative leadership role in developing programs to help ensure that vulnerable members of the community can access and receive the health care and medical treatment they need. Examples of these programs include the Renton RotaCare Clinic, Valley Medical’s Acute Specialty Access Clinic and the new Hope Health Center in SeaTac.
Additionally, Thompson has performed volunteer work in Belize and just recently delivered medical equipment to a rural hospital in Erseke, Albania, where he also provided training for nurses and physicians.
In 2010, Thompson was named Renton Citizen of the Year.
Since its inception, The Leaders in Health Care Awards has recognized the individuals who are making outstanding contributions to improve the quality and affordability of health care in Washington state.
Each year, dozens of nominees are evaluated and the top candidates selected for demonstrating excellence in health care.
At the awards ceremony on Feb. 28 he will either be named one of two Silver Award recipients or as the Washington Health Care Practitioner of the Year. He will also be featured in the March issue of Seattle Business magazine.
