Three new videos extol Renton

The City of Renton is attracting attention once again. It recently produced three high-energy videos marketing the benefits of living, working and playing in Renton.

The videos were produced by the Renton Community Marketing Campaign which includes the city, Renton Technical College, the school district, Valley Medical Center, Renton Chamber of Commerce and Renton Visitor’s Connection. They produced a video four years ago and at that time the Landing, the Federal Reverse Bank and the Seahawks training facility weren’t built yet.

So, they thought it was worth the investment, said Alex Pietsch, administrator with the city’s Department of Community and Economic Development.

The three videos were developed for different audiences and have appeared on the city’s web site (rentonwa.gov), YouTube page, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

The group also sent a 2,500 email blast to business leaders and commercial real estate contacts.

“Overall, it’s been positive. I haven’t heard any negative criticism,” Pietsch said.

He hopes that more people, including local residents, will take the time to view the videos and he envisions the videos will also be used at regional economic growth forums.
