A multiple-car collision at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday is blocking the left two lanes of northbound Interstate 405 at the Maple Valley Highway, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation.

The backup is about one mile. The backup likely will affect northbound State Route 167 where it merges with I-405.
