The Tukwila Police Department has identified a suspect in the fatal shooting Monday of a 24-year-old man outside a motel on Tukwila’s International Boulevard.
The suspect has been identified as Gary Lee Lipsey, 28, a black male, 5-foot-8 and weighing 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and short black hair.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued by King County Superior Court for one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault.
Lipsey is believed to still be in the Puget Sound area, according to Mike Murphy, a Tukwila Police spokesman.
The vehicle he was reported leaving the scene in has been recovered.
Lipsey is considered armed and dangerous, according to Murphy. Anyone with information about him should call 911.
The victim has been identified as Kevin Camacho. He was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Spruce Motel at about 10 a.m. Monday.
A warrant for his arrest has been issued by King County Superior Court for one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault.
Medic One transported Camacho to Harborview Medical Center where he died at 10:59 a.m. He had been shot several times.
The suspect was confronted by a witness as he left the scene, according to Tukwila Police. The suspect shot at the witness but missed. The witness was uninjured.
The shooting was witnessed by several people who are cooperating with police, according to police.
The suspect fled in a burgundy sedan. Tukwila Police detectives knew the identity of the suspect.
This shooting was not random, according to Murphy, who added the two men were acquainted with each other.
