On Saturday, Feb. 8, Renton Police responded to a report of gunfire from a home around 11 a.m. in the 2600 block of Northeast 5th Court in the Highlands.

Officers attempted to contact 35-year-old Eders Rubio Ordonez who was involved with the incident before the individual barricaded himself inside the residence. According to Renton Police representative Meeghan Black, officers had responded to the 2600 block address 106 times since January 2024.

“Many of those calls were for illegal discharge, suspicious vehicle, animal complaint and loud music,” said Black.

A charging decision will be made on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
