Hit-and-run: At 6:46 p.m. March 3 in the 400 block of Rainier Avenue South, officers responded to a hit-and-run report. The victim stated she was driving eastbound from South 3rd Place when a red sedan traveling southbound on Rainier Ave. struck her vehicle. Both cars drove into a parking lot, but the driver of the red sedan sped away. The victim was experiencing some pain and suffered significant damage to her car.
Methamphetamine found: At 9:23 a.m. March 4 at Southwest Boulevard and Hardie Avenue Southwest, officers responded to a welfare check. Officers contacted a man who was struggling to maintain his balance. The subject had a warrant and was arrested. Officers searched him before placing him in the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamine. He was booked into jail.
Child porn: Detectives received a cyber tip online about suspected child pornography being shared and distributed online. The investigation is ongoing.
Smoking fentanyl: At 12:21 a.m. March 7 in the 300 block of Renton Center Way, officers observed a subject consuming illegal drugs. The officer contacted the person, who stated they were smoking fentanyl. She was arrested, cited and released at the scene.
Valley SWAT extracts woman: At 1:47 p.m. March 7 in the 2000 block of Grant Avenue South, officers responded to a threats-with-a-weapon call. When they arrived, they learned that four to five people were involved. A male and female exited the residence with a child, and a female remained inside and refused to exit. Valley SWAT responded and eventually located the female suspect hiding between a mattress and box spring in a bedroom. She was booked into jail on investigation of first-degree assault.
