In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, volunteers joined city officials and the Renton Parks & Recreation department to plant and mark storm drains.
On Saturday, April 22, dozens of volunteers took to beautify the city. Fifty-eight volunteers planted 20 trees while 11 volunteers marked storm drains. Mayor Pavone and City Council members Perez, O’Halloran, Prince, McIrvin, Alberson and Van were also in attendance.
Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 and focuses more on environmental education and change, while Arbor Day is on April 28 and focuses more on planting trees.
