Construction is complete on Weatherly Inn’s third senior living community in South Puget Sound, and on May 18, a grand-opening ceremony was held at the new Weatherly Inn in Renton.
The 150,000-square-foot community facility cost an estimated $62 million. It includes 123 apartments for retirement and assisted living and 33 apartments for memory care.
General Manager at the facility, Alex Lynn, said the company was “thrilled” to find the property for the new Weatherly Inn location at 4550 Talbot Rd S., as it is in close proximity to Valley Medical Center and other medical clinics and is easily accessible from SR-167.
Weatherly Inn is known for its uniquely designed communities, creating memorable places for seniors and their families to enjoy. The new Talbot Road location emerges from a six-year design process, informed by the company’s three generations of senior living development, management, and principles.
Lynn said the Weatherly Inn Renton was designed to feel “more like home,” with spaces such as outdoor courtyards and patios, as well as a “fireside room” for residents to enjoy their morning coffee and read the newspaper while socializing with their neighbors and friends.
According to Lynn the Weatherly Inn has never sold any of its locations as prepared to be an established “part of Renton.” He estimated the facility will hire roughly 100 people to help work and operations.
“It’s our best work yet. We have put together a team of professionals to carry out our values in Renton, making an uncommonly beautiful senior living community where it feels like home and you’re surrounded by friends,” says Alex Bunn, CEO.
The new facility is now accepting applications for new residents.
