Summer Outdoor Movie Series: Jurassic World Dominion at Liberty Park:

From 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., enjoy this free screening of “Jurassic World: Dominion”, the second of the Renton Parks and Recreation Department and King County Parks’ Summer Movie Series. Register at rentonwa.gov/register.

Flamenco En Vivo at Carco Theatre:

A showcase of the art of Flamenco dance and traditional live folkloric music from southern Spain, this performance event will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are between $15 and $35 and can be purchased at seattledances.com/event/flamenco-en-vivo/.

Wednesday, July 19

Renton Neighborhood BBQ: 1950s at Renton High School:

One of the city’s four free neighborhood events, this free, 1950s-themed BBQ will run from 5 to 8 p.m in front of Renton High. Free hotdogs (with vegetarian options), live music, lawn games and city department information booths will be available to all who attend.

Saturdays, July 15 & Aug. 19

Thursday, July 20

Café Vets: Monthly gathering of veterans and guests for coffee and refreshments hosted by Renton American Legion Post 19 and Auxiliary Unit 19 on the third Thursday of every month (except December) from 10 a.m. to noon. Come for coffee and camaraderie and goodies. Legion membership is not a requirement, though most veterans are eligible for membership. Post Service Officer will be on hand, in case someone needs assistance with a VA claim. No agenda, just veterans getting together with other veterans and their friends. Post Hall is in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower (3224 NE 12th St.).

Renton River Days:

Renton River Days is back and bigger than ever! General activities will be in several locations throughout the city, including Liberty Park, Piazza Park, Pavillion Event Center, Senior Activity Center, Cedar River Park and Renton Community Center. There will be the Lucky Duck Poker Walk and Pub Crawl from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21 in Downtown Renton and the parade on 3rd Street at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 22. Family Fun Entertainment Series: Musical Trip Around The World with Miho and Diego at Heritage Park:

Starting at 12:30 p.m., this family-friendly performance showcases songs from Latin America and Japan, complete with rare instruments from around the world. This is a free event in partnership with the King County Library System and Renton Parks and Recreation.

Summer Outdoor Movie Series: Luca at Henry Moses Aquatic Center:

From 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., enjoy this free screening of “Luca”, the third of the Renton Parks and Recreation Department and King County Parks’ Summer Movie Series. For the VIP experience, the cost is $10. Register at rentonwa.gov/register.

Fridays, July 14 to Aug. 25

SOS/Food Lifeline Free Lunch Pop-Up at Downtown Renton:

This weekly event will take be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where unsheltered and Renton residents with food insecurities will be given a free lunch. A partnership between SOS Emergency Feeding Program and Food Lifeline, this event will take place at 126 South Logan Avenue North.

Saturdays, July 15 to Aug. 26

Renton Parkrun at Cedar River Trail:

This weekly 5K community event takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cedar River Trail trailhead by the I-405 overpass. This free event does require registration but is meant to be a fun event where walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators can come together. Wednesdays, July 19 & Aug. 2

Free Lunch Pop-Up at Liberty Park:

Emergency Feeding Program’s bi-weekly free lunch event will provide Amazon Fresh ready-to-eat food and drinks, personal hygiene kits and socks for the unsheltered and residents with food insecurities. The pop-up will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. is located in the parking lot of Liberty Park at 1101 Bronson Way North.

Tuesdays, July 18 to Sep. 26

Renton Farmers Market at Piazza Park:

The city farmers market will take July 4 off but will be back in Piazza Park on July 11 and every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. until Sept. 26. Along with vendors, the Washington State University’s Master Gardeners will be there each week to answer garden-related questions.
