SOS/Food Lifeline Free Lunch Pop Up at Downtown Renton:
This weekly event will take be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. where unsheltered and Renton residents with food insecurities will be given a free lunch. A partnership between SOS Emergency Feeding Program and Food Lifeline, this event will take place at 126 South Logan Avenue North.
Saturdays, May 27 to June 24
Renton Parkrun at Cedar River Trail:
This weekly 5K community event takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cedar River Trail trailhead by the I-405 overpass. This free event does require registration but is meant to be a fun event where walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators can come together. Memorial Day Celebration at Veterans Memorial Park:
Held by VFW Post 1263, this annual Memorial Day event will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will honor and celebrate those who have served and given their lives in the U.S. Armed Forces. Veterans Memorial Park is located at 1000 South 3rd Street.
Friday, June 2
Sip & Strut Wine Walk at Rain City Market:
Partnered with Renton PRIDE, this Renton Downtown Partnership event will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Walk through downtown Renton for some wine tasting, local shopping and a celebration of Renton’s LGBTQIA+ community. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at rentondowntown.com/event/sip-strut-wine-walk/.
Tuesdays, June 6 to Sep. 26
Renton Farmers Market at Piazza Park:
The city farmers market makes its triumphant return to Piazza Park and will continue every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. until Sept. 26. Along with vendors, the Washington State University’s Master Gardeners will be there each week to answer garden-related questions.
Wednesdays, June 7 & June 21
Free Lunch Pop-Up at Liberty Park:
Emergency Feeding Program’s bi-weekly free lunch event will provide Amazon Fresh ready-to-eat food and drinks, personal hygiene kits and socks for the unsheltered and residents with food insecurities. The pop-up will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. is located in the parking lot of Liberty Park at 1101 Bronson Way North.

2023 Recycling Event Part I at Renton Technical College:
The City of Renton’s recycling event series continues in June from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the North Parking Lot of RTC. Mattresses, box springs, cardboard, styrofoam and tire collection will be collected for Part II on June 10. Part III will be Saturday, Sept. 9 (styrofoam and documents for shredding). Renton City Concert Band Juneteenth Celebration Concert at Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center:
From 2 to 4 p.m., the Renton City Concert Band will showcase Black composers and performers to celebrate Juneteenth. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and 50+ seniors and available for purchase at the Renton Community Center, Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center and at the door.
Tuesday, June 13
The Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post 19: This organization meets the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 7 p.m. at the Post Hall (3224 NE 12th St.) in the Renton Highlands under the water tower.
All veterans are welcome.
Most vets are eligible for membership. America’s premier patriotic veterans’ organization and the prime driver of the original G. I. Bill, the Legion focuses on service to veterans, has influenced considerable social change in America, won hundreds of benefits for veterans and produced many important programs for the community, children and youth.
Come join us, area vets. Meeting dates for 2023 are June 13, Sept. 12, Oct. 10, Nov. 14, and Dec. 12.
Thursday, June 15
Café Vets: Monthly gathering of veterans and guests for coffee and refreshments hosted by Renton American Legion Post 19 and Auxiliary Unit 19 on the third Thursday of every month (except December) from 10 a.m. to noon. Come for coffee and camaraderie and goodies. Legion membership is not a requirement, though most veterans are eligible for membership. Post Service Officer will be on hand, in case someone needs assistance with a VA claim. No agenda, just veterans getting together with other veterans and their friends. Post Hall is in the Renton Highlands, under the water tower (3224 NE 12th St.).

Renton Neighborhood BBQ: U.N. Public Service Day at Cascade Elementary:
One of the city’s four free neighborhood events, this free BBQ will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Free hotdogs (with vegetarian options), live music, lawn games and city department information booths will be available to all who attend.
Saturday, June 24
Renton Downtown Summer Clean Up:
Join the Renton Downtown Partnership from 9 to 11 a.m. to clean up litter throughout downtown Renton. Volunteer sign-up can be found at rentonwa.gov/events and check-in will be 8:50 a.m. Gloves, vests, trash bags and grabbers will be provided.

Reclaiming Our Greatness: Juneteenth Celebration at Liberty Park:
From noon to 5 p.m., celebrate Juneteenth with 14 performances and community speakers, 40+ vendors and food trucks, a job fair, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, bouncy houses, face painting and more. Hosted by the Elevate PR Management and Renton Residents for Change, this is a free event. Liberty Park is located at 1101 Bronson Way.
