The following information was compiled from Renton Police Department case reports.
A woman who used a stolen customer card to get a tan in the Highlands on March 24 stole a salon employee’s purse and bought $13 worth of food with a stolen card at McDonald’s.
The Coach purse was worth $300 and the Coach wallet $600. Inside were credit cards, a driver’s license and the employee’s Social Security card.
The suspect was caught on security tape at the McDonald’s on Northeast Fourth Street. She is white, 5-foot-7, 130 pounds with brown wavy hair. She was wearing a black “PINK” sweater with glitter on the back.
The 24-year-old owner of the Desert Sky Tanning card told police she was at church, went to relationship counseling and then to her mother’s house the day the theft. She told police her backpack with personal information inside had been several weeks prior.
Copper wiring stolen at Ron Regis Park
Someone dug up electrical boxes next to the outfield light poles at Ron Regis Park and stole about $1,500 worth of copper wiring.
The theft was reported by a City of Renton employee the morning of March 25. There was a garden shears near one of the light poles. An officer attempted to get fingerprints off the shears.
Woman who asked for ride steals iPad
A 47-year-old Renton man who gave a woman a ride home early March 27 discovered his iPad missing after she got out of his vehicle near an apartment complex on Taylor Avenue Northwest.
He had left the unknown woman alone in his car while he went inside a convenience store. The iPad is worth about $700.
Man tries to get teen into vehicle
A man in his late 30s with a full beard attempted to convince a 14-year-old girl to get into his older beige vehicle while walking on Ferndale Avenue Northeast March 13.
The right side mirror had pick duct tape with “Hello Kitty” written on it.
The girl described the man as white, in his late 30s, with dark brown hair and a full black beard. He asked her to come to his car.
The girl ran to the nearest residence, yelling “mom, mom.” The car left and turned northbound on Edmonds Avenue Northeast.
A composite sketch was drawn for a police bulletin.
Sports memorabilia stolen
About $5,000 worth of personal belongings, including sports memorabilia, was stolen from a home in the 600 block of South 38th Court in mid-March.
The items included a camera and lenses, a Play Station 3, and iPod Touch, and iPad.
Also stolen were a baseball signed by Mickey Mantle worth $600, a baseball signed by Alex Rodriguez worth $300 and hundreds of baseball cards.
A rock was thrown through the laundry-room window to gain entry.
Man hit in face with bag of coins
A 34-year-old woman was arrested for hitting the father of her child in the face with a bag full of rolled coins
The man told police he came home to bring the woman some food and they argued. He went outside and she three a bottle of water at him but missed. She followed him to his car, opened the passenger-side door and hit him in the face with coins rolled from his business.
The woman was found a short distanced away, arrested for four-degree assault and taken to the SCORE jail.
