Youth symphony to perform Nov. 9

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform its first concert of the 2012-2013 season entitled Magic and Mystery on Nov. 9. The concert will feature magician Tim Flynn and the musical selections will celebrate the magical and mysterious side of music.

“The students have been looking forward to this concert.  The music is fun and they get to wear costumes” says Elisa Lewis, MVYSO’s executive director.

The concert will feature the music of Dukas, Mozart and others. The orchestra features students from throughout the region.

The concert will be performed by MVYSO’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, String Sinfonietta, Flute Choir, and its newest group, Jr. Symphony.

The concert is 7 p.m. at Maple Valley Presbyterian Church, 22659 Sweeney Road S.E., Maple Valley. There is a suggested $5 per person donation.
