January 19, 1949 to November 20, 2024
Dwight Eugene Kramer III, lived a rich life of adventure and travel. He was born in Aberdeen, Washington on January 19, 1949. He was the first born child of Dwight and Josephine Kramer. His father was a high school English and Spanish teacher, and in the summer, he worked as a forest ranger. Josephine was a registered nurse. After Dwight Ill was born, Josephine and Dwight Jr. had 3 more children. At an early age, Dwight developed a passion for adventure, travel camping on his bicycle, experimenting with chemistry, electronics, and collecting stamps and coins. Dwight built a battery in the 3rd grade and won first place at his school’s science fair. By the time Dwight was in middle school, he had a chemistry lab at his parents’ house, and he built his first radio and became a ham radio operator. During his life, Dwight continued his interest in traveling to remote places, volunteering as a ham radio operator, working with electronics, experimenting with chemistry, and collecting coins and stamps.
As a young adult, Dwight began taking flying lessons. After traveling to Alaska, he moved to Renton, Washington, and began working for Boeing as an electrical engineer. He purchased a Piper Cub airplane and continued flying throughout his life. Dwight is survived in loving memory by his sisters Marlene, Margery, Martha, and his nephews Forest and Tristan Wagner and brother-in-law, Joe Wagner. His friend Kari Haas said Dwight’s memory is a blessing, and I appreciated having him in my life.
