Ed Cooks died on August 30, 2017 in Auburn, WA at the age of 88. Ed was born on June 9, 1929 in Renton, WA to Henry and Betty Cooks.
He graduated from Renton High School in 1947. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Ed married Mary Jean in 1952. After his discharge from the Marine Corps, Ed continued his career as owner and operator at Reid & Cook/Grady Way Chevron.
Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Jean, children Jody and Kelli (Pat), grandchildren Kevin, Marisa (Jason), Kirsten, Kurt, Taylor, Jennifer (Ivan) and one great-granddaughter Paisley. He is survived by his sister Nancy and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery on September 18th, with a reception to follow at Tahoma Hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ed’s life. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Renton Historical Society.
