George Saturnini
George Saturnini passed away November 4, 2010, at Group Health Hospital in Bellevue of a heart attack. He was born October 18, 1921, in Maple Valley (formerly Renton) to Frank and Margarite (Diberardino) Saturnini, one of five children. George attended Taylor School and Graduated from Tahoma High School in 1940. During his high school years he worked in Renton at Reid and Cooks Chevron Station. In 1942 George entered the Army Air Force as an airplane and engine mechanic, receiving his honorable discharge in September 1945. He returned to Renton area, joining his father at the City of Seattle Water Department, where he was a supervisor. George married Ann (Petchnick) Anglemyer on October 27, 1951. They built their home on Renton Hill in 1952, where they lived for 50 years until her death in November 2001. In his retirement George tended his garden and yard and helped many friends. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Renton Senior Center Coffee Bar and dining room, and at the Renton Historical Society. He loved calling Bingo at the Elks Club in Renton, bowling with his wife in the Senior League in Skyway, and playing Keno at the Auburn Muckleshoot Casino. He leaves behind special friends and relatives and his beloved dog, Buffy. A long-time friend, Mario Tonda calls George a ‘good friend’ to many. George’s final resting place is Mt. St. Olivet Cemetery with Ann. At his request, no service was held. Arrangements were made by Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home.
