Katie Gotti Detrick

Katie Gotti Detrick, 85, formerly of Renton, died on January 7, 2010, at Apple Springs Assisted Living in Omak, WA. She was born on December 31, 1924, the oldest child of Phillip and Fini Gotti. She attended Renton High School, graduating in 1942. After retiring from the Mail Order Department of Sears, Roebuck and Co., in Seattle, she traveled, visiting Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Hong Kong. She moved to Moclips, on the Washington coast, in 1983, and there enjoyed digging clams, beachcombing, and spending time with her brother, Phil. She is survived by her son Gary Gotti, and daughter-in-law Mary, both of Malott, WA; granddaughters Angelina Benedetti and Cristina Gotti, both of Renton; great-granddaughter Serafina Benedetti; sister Ivona Little, of Renton; niece Pamela Lindquist, of Seattle; nephew David Little, of Kent; and James Messer, of Kent. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Detrick; her brother, James Gotti; and her brother, Phillip Gotti, Jr. Katie’s family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Renton on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 11am. A lunch reception will follow at Gloria’s Restaurant & Lounge in Maple Valley. Memorial donations can be made to the City of Renton Fire & Emergency Services Fund. Checks should be payable to the Renton Community Foundation, and sent to Renton Fire & Emergency Services, 1055 South Grady Way, 7th floor, Renton, WA 98057.
