Ray (Lewis) Palmer, was born August 13, 1935 in Preston, Idaho to Ray C. & Lillie (Bennett) Lewis. She was the oldest of four children.
In her lifetime, she lived in Logan, Utah, as well as Poulsbo, Kent, and Renton, Washington, and finally McMinnville, Oregon. LaRay graduated from Renton High School in 1953.
She married Arlo Kirk Palmer in the Manti Temple for time and all eternity on June 21 1954. They had four children and raised them in a home they built in Renton. In 1996-97, Kirk and LaRay served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. LaRay lost her husband in July 2013 and moved to McMinnville to be closer to her daughter, Shirlene.
She enjoyed traveling, family, reading, and doing craft projects. She enjoyed her garden up in Washington and insisted on having her roses when she moved to Oregon. She died on January 31, 2018, shortly after suffering a massive stroke.
She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, her sister, Wanda Judd, and her husband. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy & Todd Chrisman (W Richland, WA) and her brother, Karl & Linda Lewis (Pasco, WA). And by her children, Shirlene and James Seigal (McMinnville, OR), Sally LaRay Palmer (Bellevue, WA), Arlo R. and Leigh Palmer (Lake Stevens, WA), and Wade N. and Gwen Palmer (Colfax, WA). She also had 14 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
The Funeral will be February 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church on Baker Creek Rd, McMinnville, OR. The burial will be February 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery on Monroe Ave, Renton, WA.
