Mildred is preceded in death by husband Clinton Heppenstall. She is survived by son William Heppenstall (Arlene) of Maple Valley, WA, daughter Carole Stanfield (Clinton) of Santa Cruz CA, daughter Sandra Heppenstall of San Pedro CA, and daughter in law Mona Heppenstall of Tukwila, WA. Four grandchildren Kim Heppenstall, Gayle Heppenstall, Steve Simchen (Joanie) and Susan Cordone (David). Four great grandchildren, Nathan Heppenstall, Cameron, Cassidy, and Gabriella Cordone. All of whom loved her very much. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1933, Mildred got married and raised her children. She then joined the team at City Light where she worked for 25 years. Mildred’s passion for music was evident; she played the organ at church and her baby grand piano for friends and family. Mildred was an avid gardener with spontaneous tours available of her prized garden and beautifully maintained property. Mildred loved to host family gatherings and impromptu tea parties. Mildred also loved the furry creatures roaming her neighborhood in Tukwila. She cared for her own cats, stray cats, her little Katie dog, and a host of interesting raccoon families. Let’s not forget about the birds and the little houses she had available for them if they wished to stay. She dressed in costume annually on Halloween to pass out candy to the neighborhood children. When Mildred was not at home enjoying her lovely surroundings, Mildred loved to travel the world. She had the opportunity to see Europe, Asia, and loved Hawaii the most. She even cared for stray cats during her Hawaii vacations! Mildred will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite animal shelter in Mildred’s name. The graveside service will be held at Riverton Crest Cemetery located at: 3400 South 140th, Tukwila, Washington on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 10:00 in the morning.
