Nan (Mariott) Powell passed away peacefully on July 5, 2017, surrounded by family. Nan was a long time resident of Eugene, Oregon; graduating from Eugene High School in 1948. Nan was born April 4, 1930 to Alvie and Myrtle Mariott, and resided in Eugene until moving to Renton, Washington in 1976.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert “Bob” Powell; son, Steven (Peggy) of San Antonio, Texas; daughter Janelle Alameda of Bellevue, Washington; daughter Jane Hanson (Mark) of Kent, Washington; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Nan was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who devoted herself completely to her family. Among her many interests, she enjoyed sewing and needle crafts – giving many of her beautiful creations to family and friends. She was a talented pianist and appreciated musical performances, especially barbershop music. She is remembered as a delightful person; always cheerful with something positive to share. Nan will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. No service was held per her request.
A private interment took place at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
