Patrick Joseph “ P. J.” Walsh

P.J. passed away peacefully on November 19, 2008, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Patricia, and his son, Brian.P.J. was born on June 24, 1921 in Cle Elum, Washington. He moved with his family to Black Diamond at the age of six. After serving in the United States Marine Corps in WWII, he met the love of his life, Patricia Graves, whom he married in 1948.A long-time resident of Renton, he served as a Renton Firefighter for nearly 25 years and retired as a Captain in 1971. He worked as a Mutual Clerk at Longacres for 45 years. He was an avid golfer and gardener. He loved going to sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family and friends will miss him greatly. We will cherish memories of his contagious smile, sparkiling eves, and loving heart.P.J. leaves behind brothers Jim and Dave; sons Steven, Kenneth, and Robert; daughters-in-law Candace and Darlene; and nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at 655 Dayton Ave NE , Renton, WA 98055. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to City of Renton Memorial Aid Car Fund.
