Robert Jay Wixom
Robert Jay Wixom, 89, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015 in Renton WA. Bob is remembered for his gentle spirit, his kindness and generosity, creative talents and dedication to family.
Bob was born in Columbus, North Dakota on October 3, 1925 to Robert Sr. and Alma Wixom. He graduated from McHenry High School in North Dakota, then joined the navy and served during World War II. Bob’s family moved to Renton, where he met his love, Josephine Ruffalo, and was married in 1950 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. They spent time together traveling, playing cards and attending art and music events. Bob was an involved member of his church and Renton communities. We will admire his many creative projects and paintings for years to come. He began his 30 year career with Boeing in 1959 as a Technical Illustrator. Bob’s artistic talent and passion as a water color artist touched the lives of many. He loved art, music nature, and all people.
Bob is survived by his wife Josephine of 65 years; daughters, Janet Wixom, Rita Berg (Gary); grandchildren, Lauren Gordon (Evan), Ryan Lukjanowicz, Jordan Berg and Alexa Berg; sister, Carvel Eaton (Jim), brother, Larry Wixom (Grace), and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Renton on May 29 at 11:00am followed by a reception. Burial will take place at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery at 2pm. Viewing is at the church before the funeral.
