Robert Jay Young slipped peacefully away into the arms of Jesus at his Renton home on April 3, 2018.

Bob was born on October 1, 1951 to Ernest and Janice Young of Seattle, Washington. He graduated from Renton High School in 1969 and from the University of Washington in 1973. Bob resided in the Renton area for most of his life and worked for many years in the construction industry as a carpenter, foreman, and project manager. He married Ellen Jean Burdick on October 21, 2005.

Bob was always fun to be around. He was well known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed sports and had a passion for flying. Bob loved spending time with his extended family. He loved kids, and he liked to tease his nieces and nephews, and later, his great-nieces and great-nephews. He loved playing Santa Claus at family Christmas gatherings. He will be dearly missed!

Bob is survived by his brother, David Young (Sandy) of Renton; sister, Robin Wilson (Joe) of Bellingham; sister, Jill Bickel (George) of Sammamish; and by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ellie; his parents, Ernest and Janice Young; and his sister, Donna Young.

A family memorial honoring Bob will be held at a later date.
