Ruthie was born in Seattle on September 10, 1938, and passed away in Burien on November 11, 2016 at the age of 78.

She is survived by her husband, Bill and children Machelle, Wil (Theresa), Roni (David) and Barb (Ray). Grandchildren Shayne, Lexi, Riley, Ally, Quinn and Grace.

She loved her family with all her heart and loved being a mother and grandmother, and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She spent years as a seamstress and enjoyed her years of sewing for the Renton Fire Dept. and other local organizations. She was very involved in her community and took extra steps to participate at the local schools, where her children attended. She was always the most popular driver for field trips.

Ruthie fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease and a short battle with cancer.

Per her request, no funeral services will be held, but the family will host a celebration of life reception in her honor on Saturday, December 3rd at 1pm at Maplewood Golf Course in Renton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Renton Firefighters Benevolent Fund (iaff864.org/rffba/) or The American Red Cross (redcross.org/donate).
