Liberty 16, Mount Si 6
Liberty put out an emphatic message to the rest of the KingCo Monday: You better bring your best shot against the Patriots or things could get ugly.
Mount Si had moved to within a game of the Patriots (14-3 overall, 13-2 league) for the KingCo lead and the two teams were tied Monday through six innings. But the Wildcats let up a little too early and Liberty pounced, scoring 10 runs in the final inning to turn a close game into a blowout.
Troy Colyer went 2-5 with three RBIs and a homerun. Eric Etter went 2-3 with two runs. Nick Hart went 2-4 with three runs. Eric Peterson went 2-2 with three runs.
Dan Eck pitched in relief and earned the win.
Mount Rainier 12, Hazen 7
Mount Rainier took advantage of defensive miscues by Hazen to beat the Highlanders 12-7 Monday.
Hazen (9-6, 9-4) committed six errors on defense. The Highlanders trailed by just one run after the second inning, but the Rams were able to tack on more runs.
Kyle Nation went 3-4 with two RBIs at the plate. Brenden Campbell went 2-3 with two RBIs.
Highline 10, Lindbergh 9
Lindbergh looked to be in control against Highline before a huge sixth inning from the Pirates allowed them to win 10-9 Monday.
The Eagles (8-5, 8-5) led 8-2 until Highline rattled off eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Lindbergh scored a run in the top of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
Tommy Kawamura went 3-4 with a run, a triple and three RBIs. Kyle Swannack and Greg Gasperetti each hit a homerun.
Evergreen 13, Renton 10
Renton came close, but still fell 13-10 to Evergreen Monday.
The Indians (1-12, 1-12) scored in every inning but the seventh.
Adrian Scott went 2-3 with four RBIs, a double and a homerun.
