Boys basketball: Lindbergh and Liberty fall

Evergreen 62, Lindbergh 56

Evergreen went on a big, fourth-quarter run to beat Lindbergh 62-56 Wednesday.

Lindbergh (2-8 overall, 2-5 Seamount) looked good early, outscoring Evergreen 22-11 in the second quarter to take an eight-point halftime lead.

Evergreen (5-4, 4-3) chipped two points off of Lindbergh’s lead in the third quarter, then outscored the Eagles 22-10 in the fourth to earn the win.

Willie Creear led Lindbergh with 18 points. Demarr Ferguson scored 11 and Jake Allie scored eight.

Evergreen’s Kwame Bates led all scorers with 20 points.

Juanita 64, Liberty 52

Despite 18 points from Eric Peterson, Liberty fell to Juanita 64-52 Tuesday.

Liberty (3-8, 0-4) trailed by seven points at halftime and couldn’t climb back into the lead. The 18 points for Peterson are a season-high. The 6-foot-4 senior is averaging 9.5 points per game.

Juanita’s (4-8, 2-2) Ryon Cunnigan led the Rebels with 16 points.
