Totems break tie with late goal to win
Tyee scored a late goal to beat Renton 1-0 on April 4. Frank Martinez scored the goal and was assisted by Mostafa Hedayat. Jose Rivera recorded the shutout for the Totems (1-5, 1-5).
The Indians (2-6, 2-6) won the first meeting between the teams this season 1-0 on March 13.
Hazen vs. Kennedy ends in a draw
A battle between Hazen and Kennedy, two of the Seamount’s top teams, ended in a 0-0 tie on April 4. Drey Hicks recorded the shutout for Hazen.
Kennedy sits in second place with a 6-1-1 league record. Hazen is in fourth place with a 3-3-1 league record.
Eagles come out on top over Wolverines
Lindbergh beat Evergreen 2-1 on April 4. Ivan Melgar and Kevin Lazo scored unassisted goals for Lindbergh (2-5, 2-5).
Kenny Albright scored an unassisted goal for Evergreen (2-6, 2-5).
Baseball
Rams win big
Mount Rainier beat Renton 16-0 on April 3. Brian Alexander hit a double and had three RBIs for the Rams (9-0 overall, 7-0 league). Mount Rainier remains in first place in the Seamount League.
Kendrick Billon took the loss for the Indians (2-7, 2-4). Renton sits in a tie for fifth place.
Softball
Patriots edge MI
Liberty edged Mercer Island 1-0 on April 3. Liberty (5-4, 4-2) held on to third place in the KingCo 3A with the victory. Mercer Island (0-8, 0-6) is still searching for a league win.
Indians score first but fall to Mount Rainier
Renton took an early lead but couldn’t keep up with Mount Rainier as the Rams won 11-1 on April 3. Mount Rainier’s (8-2, 7-1) Shelby Klein went 3-4 with three runs, two RBIs and three doubles.
Jasmine Bie took the loss for the Indians (0-5, 0-5).
