The Hazen baseball team couldn’t find enough pitching in a 15-8 loss to Camas Wednesday. The West Central District III loss ends the Highlanders’ season.
Hazen took a 2-1 lead after the first inning, but Camas responded with four runs in the third. The Papermakers then added five in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
The Highlanders scored twice in the fifth and four more times in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
Jeffrey Beckman hit a home run and had three RBI’s. Brenden Campbell went 3-4 with a run and an RBI. Anthony Pina went 2-3 with a run, two RBI’s and a double.
Hazen was in the second round of the district tournament after beating Timberline in the opening round.
